Make a supplier decision with the differences visible
Two suppliers can quote the same product name while offering different materials, quantities, packaging and delivery terms. A price comparison is useful only after those differences are understood.
This service is for founders and product businesses preparing a supplier shortlist, reviewing quotations, or deciding what to ask before moving to samples or an order.
What I can help with
- Define the sourcing brief: product specifications, intended market, quantity, packaging and target timing.
- Research supplier candidates or review the suppliers you already have.
- Assess the information supplied about manufacturing capabilities and product experience.
- Compare quotation scope, minimum orders, samples, tooling, packaging, payment terms and production timing.
- Identify missing answers and prepare follow-up questions.
- Outline the next verification steps, including where specialist inspection, testing or other support may be needed.
We agree whether the engagement covers a new supplier search, an existing shortlist, or quotation evaluation only. The number of products and suppliers is set in that scope.
What you receive
- A supplier comparison organized around the criteria agreed for your product.
- A quotation comparison that makes included costs, exclusions and differences in specification visible.
- A questions and risk summary distinguishing confirmed information from supplier claims and unresolved points.
- A recommended next-step sequence for clarifications, samples and further verification before you commit.
The purpose is to help you make the next decision with better information. A shortlist is not a guarantee of supplier reliability or product compliance.
What to send
Include the product description, drawings or reference images, intended destination market, approximate order quantity, and any quotations or supplier correspondence you already have. If your specifications are still developing, say which requirements are fixed and which remain open.
Avoid sending only a competitor’s product link and a target price. Even a short written brief is more useful when it identifies material, size, packaging, quantity and the features that matter.
Scope and working arrangement
The fee, delivery schedule and extent of supplier communication are agreed before work begins. Factory visits, independent inspections, laboratory testing, legal review and freight bookings are separate activities unless specifically agreed. I can help identify the questions these providers need to answer; their findings remain distinct from a desktop sourcing review.
Relevant experience
My work includes China and Southeast Asia sourcing, supplier negotiations, product development, manufacturing coordination and international logistics. As founder of Uno Casa, I managed those activities for my own private-label business.
